At the north end of the Kallitsos village, in-between old stone buildings, there stands the solid rocky “Tholos” (dome). Some old references describe it to have a 4-meter height, a domed top and a small rectangular construction attached to its base. Today only a small part of it remains (approx. 2 meters high) and little information is known about its history. It is said that it was an overground tomb of a great -probably Roman- centurion (centurion in Greek = ekatontarchos > Kentarchos, hence the name of the village’s beach).
