The quiet beach of Avessalos (or Avessalou) is located at the western part of the island, in front of the homonymous small village. It is among the most distant beaches of the island, and you can get there through a passable dirt road that starts 500 meters before Aspros Pirgos, on the left hairpin turn of the road that connects Chora with Mega Livadi and the bay of Koutalas. The shore is wide, with pebble, clean, cool water and minimum shadow. The seabed is rocky, intact and rich in fish. If you decide to visit Avessalos, make sure to take some basic supplies with you, such as water and snacks. We certainly suggest that you take enough supplies to last till late in the evening, because the beach offers a magnificent amphitheatric view of the sunset.
