If you head towards Mega Livadi, on the route that crosses the southern part of the island, you will meet the bay of Koutalas with the homonymous beach, third in a row after Vagia and Ganema. In front of the picturesque, spread village, the long beach offers plenty of shade and cool waters. On the left side, where the tavern in placed, there are pebbles that give their place to more and more sand as you move to the right side. It offers good protection against the wind and offers plenty of parking space along the shore. On the western slope you will see the ruins of old miners’ residences, while at the exit of the village there still stand remains of some facilities, old machinery and the loading bridge that served the needs of the area’s mines.
